Officials: No wait at COVID-19 vaccine clinic at Fayetteville's Crown Complex
Staff were reporting no lines or short lines at the drive-thru COVID-19 vaccine clinic at the Crown Complex on Wednesday.
Sally Shutt, Cumberland County's assistant manager, said at 9:45 a.m. there was no wait for a vaccine clinic at the venue at 1960 Coliseum Drive. That could change throughout the day as more people show up to get a shot.
In previous days, hundreds of cars blocked traffic around the Crown Complex hours before the clinic opened and were turned away once vaccines ran out.
As a result of the long lines, Cumberland County implemented an appointment system where people can schedule an appointment between 9 and 11 a.m. or 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Friday. After 1 p.m., people can show up without an appointment to get vaccinated on a first-come, first-served basis.
The clinic is currently open on those three weekdays only, but a special clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Jan. 23.

The clinic is open to healthcare workers who work closely with COVID-19 patients, long-term care staff and residents, and seniors 65 and older.
