Firefighters responded to a pharmaceutical company in Morrisville overnight after someone thought they saw smoke.
Crews responded to the large PPD building, located at 3900 Paramount Parkway, around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
More than a dozen firefighters responded to the scene and were working on multiple floors of the building. A Cary 911 operator confirmed there was no fire and said construction from sheetrock caused a haze, which was mistaken for smoke.
According to Morrisville Fire Chief Scott Criddle, the 911 call was deemed a structure fire as a precaution. There was no fire.
PPD is a research and pharmaceutical services company based out of Wilmington.
