Starring in the Broadway hit "Hamilton" changed Leslie Odom Jr.'s life.

"'Hamilton' was just all my dreams come true. It really was. It was the trifecta as a performer," Odom Jr. told WRAL Out and About after rehearsing with the North Carolina Symphony.

The Tony Award winner will perform with the symphony Friday and Saturday at Meymandi Concert Hall.

"We've been doing this for a few years ... these live shows since I left 'Hamilton,' and I really enjoy doing it with symphonies because number one, the caliber of the musicians," he said. "It's thrilling. There's something about that collaboration, all those great musicians on stage."

Fans of the Broadway musical will definitely be happy with Odom's set-list, which will include hits from the show, some holiday hits and possibly some music from his upcoming album, Mr., which drops on Nov. 8.

"I do know that people are coming to hear 'Hamilton' stuff, so I happily do that stuff. I do stuff from other Broadway things I've done," he said. "You might hear some stuff from the new album tonight. You might. We are just getting that show ... those live tunes up and running."

Odom said the next phase of his career is focusing on his music, but you can catch him soon on the big screen. He can also be seen in the upcoming Harriet Tubman biopic, "Harriet," which hits theaters Nov. 1.
