North Carolina Museum of History showcases state from A-Z
A new exhibition at the North Carolina Museum of History will showcase the state's history from A to Z.
Artifacts, images and interactive displays will take guests through the exhibition, which opens on Sept. 3.
Staff said they matched aspects of the state's history to each letter of the alphabet.
"Sure, B could stand for Basketball," a press release about the exhibition said. "But what would X represent? Or Q?"
F, which stands for film industry, will show costumes worn by actors while filming movies including the Hunger Games and the Conjuring.
Meanwhile, V will stand for Variety Vacationland, which is a kicking machine that was a popular roadside stop during the state's Variety Vacationland tourism campaign.
The exhibition will also display artifacts from the museum that are rarely displayed.
There will also be photo opportunities, multimedia presentations, games and other hands-on activities, staff said.
