The Winston Cup, dedicated to NASCAR's Winston Cup Era, will be closing down on Dec. 16. Originally opened in 2005 by founder and owner Will Spencer, the Winston Cup Museum tells the story of stock car racing during the legendary Winston Cup Series era of NASCAR.

In a statement on the Winston Cup's Facebook account, the museum's owners credited the closing of the museum to the assessment of "the museum's current financial situation and the significant expense required to completely rebrand the museum." Colbert Seagraves, the museum's executive director added that the museum never made a profit.
