Six North Carolina Central University students face charges related to the shooting of another student earlier this month.

Eric Randall is charged with conspiracy to commit assault with a deadly weapon and armed robbery.

Shaziyah Bell, Paris Amos, Kenyatta Carmichael, E'Rico Hill and Jayiana Mitchell are charged with felony conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

The university said Hill had minor injuries from the April 2 shooting at Lawson Residence Hall, located at 609 E. Lawson St. He has been released from the hospital.

According to the university, the six students involved are on interim suspension.

WRAL News obtained the 911 Broadcastify calls from the night of the shooting.

"Oh, my God," a caller said. "Hey, 911. I need somebody at North Carolina Central right now.

"My friend got shot in the mouth right now!"

North Carolina Central police said additional arrests are expected.

North Carolina Central students that WRAL News spoke with were shocked.

"What the hell?" student Ahman Malik said. "Like, I don't even ... that's kind of wild."

Joee Stark said he was disappointed to hear about the handful of 18- and 19-year-olds charged in this case.

"You come to school to learn. That's first and foremost," Stark said. "You come to school to get your education, so when you're out here doing things you shouldn't be doing, or something that doesn't work toward your future, it's like, what are you here for?"

Earlier this month, a judge granted Randall a public defender and set his bond at $95,000. He was told he can't contact the victim. Randall is also banned from campus.
