Newtown Pride FC to face SLC FC in TST's $1M championship game

Cary, N.C. — Newtown Pride FC will face SLC FC in the first championship game of The Soccer Tournament, the 7 vs. 7 worldwide tournament taking place at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary.
The championship match will take place Sunday at 3 p.m. The winner will earn a $1 million reward. The second place team receives no money.
Newtown Pride FC, a semi-professional team from the Sandy Hook section of Newtown Connecticut, advance to the final with a 4-1 win on Saturday versus Sneaky Fox FC.
SLC FC, the only team in the TST from Canada, defeated Zala FFF in a thrilling 1-0 finish.
Tickets for TST’s championship game are sold out.
Dallas United has withdrew from TST after allegations that a player used a racial slur on Thursday night during a game.
The Soccer Tournament announced the suspension of the match between Dallas United and West Ham United due to "allegations of use or intent to use a racial slur." An investigation from TST organizers found that Dallas United violated the tournament's code of conduct.
