Margarettsville

This Northampton County town was charted in 1885 and is named for Margaret Ridley.

Hendersonville
 
A beautiful mountain town, Hendersonville is known for its apple festival and as a retirement community.

Rutherfordton
 
Established in 1787, Rutherfordton is one of western North Carolina's oldest towns and is named for a Revolutionary War general. It was ransacked during the Civil War. Its present-day fame comes as the hometown of Lt. Governor Walter Dalton.

Winsteadville
 
This Beaufort County town lies along the Pamlico River near Bath.

Chicamacomico
 
This town lies on the easternmost point of North Carolina. Its coastal waters are known as the Graveyard of the Atlantic, and it is home to a historic life-saving station.
