A man died Monday morning after being run over by a train in a wooded area at the T.W. Alexander Drive crossing near Miami Boulevard, according to Durham police.

A man died Monday, Oct. 11, 2010, after being run over by a train in a wooded area near T.W. Alexander Drive and Miami Boulevard.

A man died Monday morning after being run over by a train in a wooded area at the T.W. Alexander Drive crossing near Miami Boulevard, according to Durham police.

An Amtrak train hit the man at 7:24 a.m. Police spokeswoman Kammie Michael said it appeared that Fasil Aynu, 31, of Morrisville, intentionally walked onto the tracks.

No one on the train was injured, Michael said.
