Can't Race Across America? Ride in Durham

As the Durham team cycles around the clock to raise awareness for the city and its charities, local leaders will ride along on Durham's American Tobacco Campus.

A mirror event held in Durham allows riders to sign up for a 20-minute slot – any time day or night while the team is on the road – to pedal a stationary bike.

Concerts, workshops and discounts from campus restaurants are planned to make the mirror event a week-long celebration of Durham.

WRAL News anchor Gerald Owens was scheduled to be among the first to ride. Throughout the week, local celebrities and leaders from the worlds of politics and higher education were also schedule to put their pedal power to work.
