Two men shot a Durham man Wednesday morning and stole his car, a police department spokeswoman said.

The victim, a man in his 80s, was standing beside his car at the corner of Franklin Street and Alston Avenue just after 11 a.m. when two men drove up, shot him in the leg and took the car, according to Kammie Michael of the Durham Police Department.

One of the suspects drove away in the victim's car, a 1994 Plymouth Acclaim, and the other followed in his car.

Police found the suspects' car on Currin Road. The victim's car and the men who took it are still missing, Michael said.

A detailed description of the suspects was not available.
