Amber Alert issued for Southern Pines girl

Authorities issued an Amber Alert early Sunday for a 14-year-old Southern Pines girl last seen leaving the National Guard Armory with her alleged abductor late Saturday.

Police believe that Ciro Alonso Salinas took Gabriela Patricia Velazquez from the armory at 510 W. Morganton St. shortly before 10:30 p.m. Their direction of travel was unknown.

Gabriela was described as a Hispanic girl, 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 120 pounds. She has black hair, brown eyes and a birthmark on her right calf. She was last seen wearing a white shirt, blue jeans and high heels.

Police described Salinas as a Hispanic man, 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 140 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, black dress pants and black shoes.
