Hoke County deputies said Tuesday, March 10, 2009, that they had arrested Virgillio Aniceto, 22, of Raeford.

Hoke County sheriff's deputies have arrested a man who they charge kidnapped a 12-year-old girl from her school-bus stop and raped her before then taking her to school, they said Tuesday.

Virgillio Aniceto, 22, of 308 Autry Loop in Raeford, was arrested Sunday, Sheriff Hubert A. Peterkin said. He faces four counts each of first-degree kidnapping and first-degree rape, Peterkin said.

The attacks happened between September last year and January, the charges say. Peterkin said investigators had charged that Aniceto took the girl to motels in Lumberton, Red Springs and Fayetteville.

The girl knew Aniceto, Peterkin said, but he did not specify how. She apparently was comfortable going with Aniceto from the bus stop, the sheriff said.

Peterkin's office said investigators planned to file other charges later, but they were unspecified.
