The holidays are a time for family, friends and food. But not everyone has the time to cook a gourmet meal. If you're still hustling to find a meal you -don't- have to cook, you'll be glad to know there are plenty of places that will sell you one!

For those of us with lesser culinary skills, heading to the market is the way to go. Many grocery stores are open all day. Most sell prepared meals -- cooked turkeys and hams and all the fixings -- ready to eat.

There's still time to reserve a prepared meal at stores across the Triangle. For thousands of shoppers, local restaurants like Boston Market and Honey Baked Hams are a great source for that holiday meal. Employees are working overtime to meet the demand.

No matter what you and your family eat, it's probably available somewhere right now. That's especially helpful to people, like Mark Bissette, who are too busy or tired to be tied down to the oven.

At the Harris Teeter in Wilson, cakes and breads are going as fast as they're being made. Baker Tricia Crouse say things should slow down after today, but for the next few hours, life as they know it, is stuck in fast forward.

Places like Honey-baked Ham and Boston Market will be taking orders for full meals until later today. You're encouraged to call ahead and reserve your meal.
