Beltline Accident Reportedly Fatal

Police and rescue crews are on the scene of head-on collision that has reportedly left one person dead and many others injured. The wreck happened on the outer beltline at Western Boulevard shortly before 10:00 p.m.

Officers say it appears a car crossed the median, striking one vehicle head-on, and causing the crash of a number of other vehicles. Traffic in the area has been rerouted from the Beltline to Hillsborough Street while the scene is cleared.
