"This Is Only A Test..."

Noise may be a problem for you today if you live in Chatham, Harnett, Lee or Wake counties.

The Sharon Harris nuclear power plant says it will test its 81 alert notification sirens at full volume today. The tests sirens should be heard by residents within a 10-mile radius of the plant.

The sirens will sound twice for three minutes, starting at 2:30 p.m.. Local radio and TV stations will not interrupt programming to broadcast the emergency alert system.
