Board Denies Plan for New Development, Council May Overturn

The Apex planning board voted unanimously to deny plans for a proposed shopping center and apartment complex. However, the Apex Town Council may overturn that decision at a meeting Tuesday.

The proposed building site is next to a residential neighborhood. Residents and the developer met with the planning board Monday night to discuss the issue. Supporters said the shopping center would be convenient, others argued the project would bring too much traffic to an already congested and narrow road.
