All the rain that has fallen across the state has put smiles on the faces of at least one group of North Carolinians.

The steady rain has showered tobacco crops with much needed moisture. Tobacco farmers east of the Triangle are about a week into this year's harvest, so the timing has been perfect for them. Some say it could even boost the crop to record levels.

Tobacco farmer Pender Sharp says he couldn't be happier.

Tobacco in the eastern belt goes to auction next Tuesday morning.
