Police sealed off part of the Blue Ridge Parkway in Asheville after a double murder Thursday morning. Two men have been arrested in connection with the slayings, but police are still looking for a murder weapon.

Valerie Sue Riddle, 24, and her five-year-old son Kelly Mark Laird were found along the Blue Ridge Parkway overnight. Police say they had been brutally stabbed.

Only hours after the bodies were found, 19-year-old Lyle Clinton May was charged with two counts of first degree murder. Dale Elerby Godfrey, 23, was charged with accessory after the fact.

Police have said little about a possible motive. They do say that May knew Riddle. They also believe the woman and her son were killed somewhere else and their bodies dumped along the parkway.
