People along the Carolina Coastline got slammed by Hurricanes Fran and Bertha. Now, they may get slammed by insurance companies.
A Wilmington-based State Farm agent expects all insurance companies to ask for rate increases in coming months. After Hurricane Andrew ripped though Florida in 1992, insurance rates rose about 88%.
If rates do increase here, they're not predicted to go up nearly as much.
