Is a doctor to blame for his patient's homicidal outburst? That's what Wendell Williamson is saying.

Williamson is the former UNC law student who fatally shot two people 1995 in Chapel Hill. He was found "not" guilty by reason of insanity.

Now Williamson is suing the psychiatrist who treated him before the shootings.

Williamson says his killing spree would never have happened if Dr. Myron Liptzin had made sure Williamson continued his treatment for paranoid schizophrenia.

Williamson stopped taking his medicine and didn't find another doctor after Liptzin retired.

The shootings happened eight months later.
