Rocky Mount police have filed charges against the teenaged brother of a 4-year-old who fatally wounded himself last Monday. Jazmein Wiggins, 18, is charged with a misdemeanor count of failure to secure a weapon accessible to a minor.

Police say the gun belonged to someone else, but that Wiggins somehow obtained it and hid it in an ice chest in his family's back yard. His younger brother Ajai Wiggins found the gun Monday and was playing with it in the front yard when he shot himself in the head.

Jazmein Wiggins is out of jail on unsecured bond.
