Marine Shot to Death

The fatal shooting of a marine has drawn the attention of the Criminal Investigation Division of the Army.

The shooting occurred around 8:30 Saturday night, not far from Fort Bragg.

Emergency crews were called to a wooded area near Mott Lake, which is close to the Hoke and Cumberland County lines.

Some marines had been training nearby.

There's no word yet on how the shooting occurred, nor has the victim's identity been released.
