UNC Students Get Shortest End of Ticket Stick

After camping out for two days near the Dean E. Smith Center, UNC students received their Final Four tickets this morning. But there were fewer student tickets to go around in Chapel Hill than at any of the other schools.

The NCAA gave each school in the Final Four 3,500 tickets to this weekend's series of games in Indianapolis, but UNC officials only allotted 350 of those for student consumption.

Arizona students were given 500 tickets and Minnesota students had the chance to buy 630 tickets. Kentucky allowed students to buy nearly a third of the tickets it was given by making 1,166 available.

UNC students paid $100 each for the vouchers which can only be redeemed for tickets in Indianapolis.

The Tar Heels play Arizona on WRAL-TV5 at 5:42 p.m. Sunday.
