A Raleigh child who was struck by gunfire during a drive-by shooting last month is recovering and will be going home soon.

Jermaine Huggins was shot in the stomach while playing on the front porch of his house. After three operations and 13 days in intensive care, the 4-year-old is in a private room. Beverly Huggins says her son is expected to make a full recovery.

Beverly Huggins says local church groups have helped her family find a new home so they can leave the neighborhood where Jermaine was shot.
