Zebulon Residents Shocked by Killings

Investigators questioned two suspects Tuesday about a coldly executed triple murder at a rural home near Zebulon.

Authorities said the killings were drug-related and carried out execution-style, with two of the victims being shot in the head after they were forced to lie face down. The third victim, a 14-year-old boy, was shot in the face.

Baker said a man and a woman were being questioned today in connection with the slayings.

The victims were identified as Robin Watkins, 37, of Raleigh; and Dewayne Rogers, 34, and Damian Armstrong, 14, all of Zebulon. The bodies were found by a sheriff's deputy in Rogers' home shortly after 9 p.m. Monday after a neighbor summoned authorities, Baker said.

Police and other investigators remained at the scene after 6 p.m. Tuesday and would not speculate on a motive for the killings, but other WRAL-TV5 sources say they appear to be drug-related.

It was late Tuesday afternoon before any family members were allowed to go into the house. The wife of one of the victims was working late and was not home at the time of the killings.

Sabrina Rogers told WRAL'sKelly Wrightshe has no idea why her husband was killed.

Robert Horton says his nephew Damian Armstrong had gone to the house to use the phone, unaware of the danger he would find there.

Zebulon resident Bernard Batts says, like many in the small town, he is frightened by this event.

As of 6 p.m. Tuesday, no arrests had been made.
