Defense attorneys for an accused killer called a surprising witness to the stand Tuesday in Nash County. It was the co-defendant accused of kidnapping and killing 34-year-old Jodie Plew two years ago.

Bobby Arrington heard questions, but refused to testify after being called by attorneys for defendant Dexter Harris. Since their arrests, the two men have accused each other of being the gunman.

Arrington invoked the Fifth Amendment each time he was asked a question, although he did hesitate briefly when prosecutors asked him if Harris killed Plew.

Arrington will be tried later this year.
