Doctors for the 4-year-old girl who was assaulted in a Cumberland County foster home have upgraded her condition from critical to guarded. Her mother, Ann Babcock, says the child is now breathing on her own and showing signs of coming out of a coma.

Jennifer Babcock was thrown by her foster parents' 13-year-old daughter, allegedly because she was in the bathroom too long.

Doctors had given Jennifer a 50 percent chance of survival Wednesday.
