Travel Agent Slated for Court Tomorrow

A travel agent is expected to make her second appearance in Wake County Court Monday.

Kelly Kirk, who owned and operated a travel business in Garner for several years, is accused of swindling clients out of thousands of dollars for tickets and travel reservations that were never delivered.

Questions arose when Kirk could not be reached by phone and her office remained closed for days, its door festooned with notes from customers imploring her for their tickets or for refunds. She subsequently was found in West Virginia.

Kirk's first appearance in court was December 12, after she was picked up at her friend's home and brought back to North Carolina.
