A Wake County teenager was arrested for stabbing a fellow student during an after-school fight. An argument began between the two 15-year-olds on a school bus leaving Leesville High School.

Officers say two 15-year-old girls argued on the bus, then carried the argument into the parking lot in the Raleigh Gardens neighborhood.

Witness Jamil Peebles says he tried to break up the fight.

Police say one of the girls attacked the other with a small butcher knife in the parking lot. Dozens of students, neighbors and friends watched the attack.

Witness Koury Thompson says it was terrible to watch.

The victim is in satisfactory condition at Wake Medical Center Hospital. Her alleged assailant is being charged, as a juvenile, with assault with a deadly weapon. Police said the argument started over a remark made by one of the girls about the other.
