Pedestrian Struck on I-85 Identified

The North Carolina Highway Patrol has released the identity of a pedestrian who was hit and killed on Interstate 40 in Wake County.

Troopers say 36-year-old Valerie Denise Munden tried to cross the eastbound lanes of the highway near Airport Blvd. She was struck by several different vehicles.

According to authorities, the victim was homeless.
