Troopers say an Atlanta truck driver is lucky to be alive, yet the man walked away from a serious accident with just a scratch.

Donald Williams, 51, of Atlanta was driving on Interstate 85 in Durham County Sunday when his tractor-trailer plowed through a guard rail, went down an embankment and plunged into Falls Lake. Troopers say the man fell asleep behind the wheel.

Williams walked away from the wreckage with only a scratch, but he is charged with careless and wreckless driving

This is the third serious accident on that stretch of I-85 in the past few months. Trooper Lou Hawley says it comes with the territory.
