Clinton's Recovery Center Operation Extended

Operation of the state/federal disaster recovery center in Clinton has been extended until further notice, officials have announced.

The center, which provides assistance for Hurricane Fran storm victims who have registered for help, will operate from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. It is located at 132 E. Main St. in Clinton.

People in Sampson County who have suffered Hurricane Fran losses or from flooding or tornados related to Tropical Storm Josephine are encouraged to apply for assistance by calling the toll-free registration center between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. at 1-800-462-9029 (TTY 1-800-462-7585 for the hearing impaired).

Those who have questions about their application's status or need more information about a program or eligibility can call FEMA's helpline between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. at 1-800-525-0321 (TTY 1-800-660-8005 for the hearing impaired).
