Truck Collides with Bridge in Raleigh

A bridge over Western Blvd. in Raleigh stopped a tractor-trailer dead in its tracks Monday morning.

The 18-wheeler, which was carrying a tractor that had been used in the Hurricane Fran clean-up effort, slammed into the Interstate-440 overpass. Some bridge supports were dented, but police say there was no serious structural damage.

No one was injured in connection with the mishap.
