Cumberland Deputies Make Arrest In Weekend Murder

A man wanted in connection with at least one of

two weekend murders

is behind bars.

Cumberland County sheriff's deputies arrested Walter Maness, Sr. shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday.

Maness is charged with the second-degree murder of Craig Jones, who was found shot to death early Saturday morning.

Deputies say that before he died, Jones shot and killed Bryan Monroe.

Investigators hope Maness will be able to help them sort out the details of both crimes.
