Police Chase Ends With Brawl In Dunn

A police officer is on paid leave after a high speed chase ended with a brawl.

Dunn Police Sgt. James Thrower pulled over a car with two people inside after he suspected the driver was drunk.

The car briefly stopped before leaving the scene with Thrower in pursuit. Authorities said the chase ended with a crash and a fight.

Thrower is accused of hitting one of the suspects with his gun. According to authorities, the weapon discharged, but it did not injure anyone.

The suspects were later arrested.
