Man Dressed As Woman Robs Rocky Mount Bank

Rocky Mount police say a man wearing earrings and makeup robbed a bank on Raleigh Road Monday afternoon.

The man, who was carrying a large purse and wearing women's clothing along with a black hat, allegedly passed an RBC Centura teller a note demanding money. Several people were in the bank at the time.

The suspect then ran from the bank with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

Investigators say he was last seen running east on Raleigh Road after a dye pack exploded. Police are still looking for the man.

The suspect is about 6 feet tall and weighs about 160 pounds.

Police said he never showed a weapon, but mentioned one in his note.
