Second Student Accuses Wake Teacher Of Abuse

A second student has come forward, accusing a Carnage Middle School teacher of abuse.

The latest allegations come after the police department confirmed Tuesday that officers are investigating claims against the special-education teacher.

The mother of 13-year-old Jameel Smith said he was struck while in the teacher's custody. An assistant to the teacher reported the allegations of abuse to a school resource officer, who then notified Raleigh police.

The teacher is suspended with pay. Wake County Schools are also conducting their own internal investigation of the alleged incidents.
