Man Drowns In Wayne County Lake

An 18-year-old is dead after a drowning in Wayne County.

The incident happened around 4 p.m. Saturday south of Goldsboro. Investigators say Shannon Tatin was fishing with a group of friends off the Ferry Bridge boat ramp.

Tatin tried to swim out to a small island, but didn't make it. Tatin's friends could not reach him in time. Authorities believe the drowning was an accident.
