Some Fayetteville city council members took an interesting approach to work out their differences Tuesday night. They watched a movie!

More than half of the council gathered for a special meeting to view the film, "Remember the Titans." Afterwards, they talked about issues of prejudice, racism and stereotypes based on reactions from the movie.

Councilman Robert Massey admits there are racial tensions among some members and watching the film was a step in the right direction.

"Anytime that you break down the barriers of communication, it opens doors where people can learn to grow from each other. That's a plus," he says.

Attendance at Tuesday night's meeting was voluntary.
