Ashe County Woman Honored As State's Top Teacher

North Carolina education leaders gathered together Tuesday to recognize the state's top teacher.

Carmen Wilson from Ashe County was named Teacher of the Year. She is a mathematics teacher at Ashe County High School.

She was among six other finalists around the state.

Wilson gets a plaque and a brand-new car. She will also compete on the national level.
