Tractor-Trailer, Car Collide Near Benson; Dunn Man Injured

A Dunn man was airlifted to UNC Hospitals after his car was crushed by a tractor-trailer Thursday morning.

The State Highway Patrol says the car was headed north on Highway 242, one mile south of Benson, near Sorrells Road.

A trooper working the crash says the driver of the car apparently did not see the truck turning onto 242, and slammed into the trailer.

Crews cut the man out of the wreckage. His name and condition have not been released.

Charges are pending.
