Fayetteville Regional Airport Receives $1.6 Million Grant For Major Renovations

The federal government is answering Fayetteville Regional Airport's call for help.

More than $1.6 million will pour in to the airport next year for renovations and upgrades, but the real effects of the improvements will take some time.

Airport managers say the money the airport gets now will influence the business it attracts later.

"The money we put into capital improvements will, in turn, give us something we can market as we turn to talk to airlines to Fayetteville," says Toney Coleman, assistant airport director.

Coleman says airport visitors should start seeing improvements by the end of next year.
