Man, Son Die In Apparent Murder-Suicide

Deputies say a Robeson County father killed his young son and then took his own life.

The incident happened near Red Springs around 5 p.m. Tuesday. Deputies say Jodell Bullard shot his 17-month-old son, Tristen, inside a house at 2849 Mt. Zion Church Road, and then shot himself.

Bullard was separated from his wife and had joint custody of the boy, who was in his care at the time of the shooting.
