A freak accident turned a baseball game into a tragedy this weekend.
Two players collided while going after a fly ball.
Jonathan Bishop, 25, of Raleigh died while he was playing on the field, situated off Grill Road.
Officers said the teammates realized a collision was coming, and, in trying to avert it, Bishop landed on his neck.
Johnston County authorities have ruled the death accidental.
The other player was not hurt.
