The prospect of finding a job can be daunting for anyone these days, but for those over 55, it can seem downright impossible. That's why a Raleigh workshop is offering older workers help in developing their job search skills.

Instructors say these programs are important because workers usually have theskillsto get jobs, they just don't know how to market themselves.

Instructor Polly Williams says employers don't always pay attention to the law.

"As you may realize, although discriminating against older workers is illegal, it still may be more difficult for an alder person to get a job than for a younger person," she says.

If you're 55 or older and interested in attending a job search workshop, contact the Raleigh Center for Community Health and Development (R).

The number to call is (919) 588-9341.

Workshops take place on Tuesdays and Fridays and will run through the end of March
