Pinehurst Man Surrenders in Moore Slaying

A Pinehurst man was arrested Tuesday in connection with the slaying of a Moore County man.

Albert Devonte Brown, 26, of Brookside Road, surrendered to authorities at around 10 a.m.. Investigators said he was involved in the death of Jonathan Elee Grice earlier in May.

Jessica Denise White, Grice's girlfriend, has also been charged with murder. Authorities said White killed Grice before wrapping his body in a sheet and dragging him to a trash pile behind the house.

Investigators later found White's body, along with charred furniture and clothes. Autopsy results state Grice died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Brown was charged with murder, one count of felony robbery with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon. He is currently being held without bond.

Brown's first court appearance is scheduled for June 4.
