Edgecombe County Sheriff Department Investigates Pyramid Scheme

Investigators in Edgecombe County are looking into a possible pyramid scheme involving hundreds of people.

The sheriff's department says people are paying $2,000 to join the scheme known as "The Winner's Team."

In a pyramid scheme, the leader gains new recruits who pay him or her the money.

Authorities believe "The Winner's Team" has 28 levels, with hundreds of thousands of dollars possibly going to the leader. -->
