Charges have been filed against a 13-year-old girl and her 16-year-old brother after they admitted lying about a kidnapping attempt March 5.
Cary Police have not released information on the charges against the girl because she is a minor.
Her 16-year-old brother is charged with one count of filing a false police report and two counts of obstructing and delaying a police officer. All three are misdemeanors.
Cary police say charges are pending against the 21-year-old Raleigh man the girl had set up a meeting with. That meeting ultimately led to the false report.
