School Registration Beckons

If your child will be school-age by this October, the time to start thinking about registration is now.

If you live in Wake County, registration starts February 4.

To enter kindergarten, your child must be 5 on or before October 16.

You must show a certified copy of the child's birth certificate and immunization record.

You should bring proof that you're a Wake County resident, which can be done with a rental agreement, housing contract or electric bill that bears your name.

Drivers' licenses aren't accepted as proof of residence.

You also need to bring your child's social security card.
